By Kaylee Holland - The Philadelphia Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators is proud to announce the appointment of Rashi Iyer as its new chapter president starting January 1, 2026.
Iyer succeeds Rick Alcantara, who successfully led the chapter through a period of growth, member engagement, and professional development for the last three years and has strengthened IABC in their overall programming. Alcantara has been a long-time member of IABC and will remain on the board after Iyer takes over.
In her new role, Rashi Iyer will lead the chapter’s strategic direction, oversee programming and member services, and continue fostering a vibrant community for communicators across the Greater Philadelphia area.
A longtime member, Iyer has been a part of IABC for over 20 years since a communication student in 2003. “I have seen the value first hand, so I always knew I wanted to give back to the community and the profession,” said Iyer. She is currently on the exec board and serves as the Accreditation Chair. “I’m a firm believer in accreditation and my role is to encourage people to consider going for an exam, and test their knowledge,” Iyer shared.
“The Philadelphia chapter delivers some of the best programming for IABC throughout its monthly professional development series. My expectation is to be able to grow and continue delivering that programming,” said Iyer. “My goal would be to bring more and more people to see what we can do and build our already robust community,” Iyer added. Iyer is excited to serve as IABC Philadelphia president and give back to the profession. “If I wasn’t a communicator, I don’t know what I would be.”
