President's Letter December 2020

Michael_Smith_fullsize_portrait.jpgAs the familiar saying goes, how time flies! On December 31, my two-year term as IABC Philly Chapter President will come to an end, and there are so many individuals (too many to mention by name) who I’d like to thank that have provided incredible support to me and made this experience one of the highlights of my professional career. Throughout my tenure, I’ve heard from so many of our members on how this membership association can continue to be a vital resource for those in the communications profession in the greater Philadelphia area. I promise you that our board leadership team remains hard at work on behalf of our chapter membership and has many exciting things in store in 2021.

Speaking of the board, new incoming President Alex Spooner will be taking the helm here at IABC Philly beginning January 1. Alex most recently served as VP of Memberships for our chapter. I have no doubt she will be a great leader for the chapter and will continue building on our strong momentum. She will be assisted by a diverse and dedicated board across a broad spectrum of industries who are committed to representing our chapter and leading it successfully into the future. I’d also like to personally thank all my friends on the IABC Philly board for their hard work, insight and support to me and their tireless efforts on behalf of our membership. It’s been an honor leading such an amazing group of talented professionals and I look forward to continuing our collaborations on behalf of the chapter.

In closing, thank you for being a member of IABC Philly. Please know that we are always seeking ways to enhance the value of your membership and appreciate any comments or suggestions you have to offer. As always, if at any time we can be of assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. This is your Association and we value member feedback, suggestions and participation.

I wish all of you a safe, healthy and happy holiday season, and great success in the new year. Rest assured, IABC Philly will be here to bring you the information, tools and resources to assist in your professional development and career endeavors as we head into 2021 and well into the future.
