Effectively Measuring Your Communication Programs: A Profile of Angela Sinickas

by Michael Piperno --

Angela Sinickas has been measuring the effectiveness of communication since 1981. A lot has changed since then, but her passion for helping businesses make decisions based on the right data has not.

Angela_Sinickas_headshot.jpgWith all of the data available these days, it’s easy to get buried in metrics that don’t tell the whole story. In fact, Angela finds that clients are often looking at the wrong numbers. Her company, Sinickas Communications, helps them see what’s really happening with their communication programs by putting things in context and extracting useful information. Information that measures true outcomes.

According to Angela, we’re using our digital tools much more heavily now because more employees gained access to them as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. With increased usage comes increased challenges in both engagement and measurement.

At her May 13 webcast with IABC Philadelphia, Angela will share proven strategies to gain actionable insights about your digital communications. Attendees will learn:

  • To extract more information from usage statistics—which numbers to pay attention to and which are no more than “vanity metrics.”
  • The types of questions to ask in surveys and focus groups to identify what is working well and what needs to be improved.
  • Practical steps to make the most of each digital channel to meet employees' needs and help achieve business goals.

Angela is not just a researcher. First and foremost she is a corporate communicator. She has worked with over one-third of the Fortune 100 largest global companies and has conducted training in 32 countries on six continents. An author of over 150 professional articles, a manual and several book chapters, she was named a Fellow of IABC in 2008.
