ACTS is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Public Relations Director.
The Public Relations Director will be responsible for leading the efforts in increasing earned media for Acts. Develops and executes a comprehensive public relations strategy to elevate the organization’s profile in local and national media, builds strong media relationships, and supports community-based storytelling efforts, helping us share the inspiring stories of our communities and residents.
Essential Job Functions:
- Create and maintain targeted media lists for each Acts market.
Cultivate and manage relationships with key journalists, editors, bloggers, and other media influencers. - Craft compelling press materials, including press releases and media pitches for story opportunities involving Acts communities.
- Proactively pitch stories to media outlets, securing coverage that highlights the organization’s mission, residents, team members, and community impact.
- Collaborate with community leadership and designated Story Ambassadors to uncover and develop newsworthy content.
- Provide editorial oversight on multimedia content (photos, videos, and social media) to enhance media storytelling.
- Build an internal pipeline to regularly source resident stories, team member achievements, and innovative programs.
- Ensure messaging aligns with the organization’s brand voice and strategic goals.
- Track media coverage, impressions, and sentiment to measure pubic relations success.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on public relations activities, highlighting key successes and areas for improvement.
- Use analytics to refine strategies and improve effectiveness over time.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
- Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in public relations, preferably with a multi-site or nonprofit organization
Proven success with experience in securing media coverage across various platforms (print, digital, broadcast, social, etc.) - Knowledge of senior living, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors (preferred)
- Proficiency in public relations and content management tools
- Ability to travel periodically to support on-site media initiatives at communities

Pay Range
$91,000.00 - $115,000.00 / year. Starting rate will vary based on skills and experience.
